Champions
Generation
sports were crowned Champions of the TSFL Division 1 after Strokes
FC failed to capitalise on their sucess of previous weeks.
Strokes needing to beat Barnaby FC in their final match of the season,
kicked off with the wind behind them, and it was all Barnaby making
the running, getting their just reward for their hard work and determination
on the 30 minute mark, when a through ball beat the Strokes off-side
trap. The on
rushing forward squaring the ball for Patrick Todd to open the scoring.
Strokes looking tired and a little bit quiet today. They never really
found their stride and it looked like Barnaby would see their lead
remain in tact. That was until 85 minutes and John Hewitt levelled
the score for Strokes. This spurned Strokes on and they eventually
took the lead on what i thought was the 93rd minute. Gen now accepting
the title was going to Strokes shook hands and congratulated Strokes
on their sucess, but Barnaby had other ideas as they took kick off
they managed to get a free kick virtually on the half way line.
A very well struck shot looking to the top corner of Strokes net
for Ben Buckingham in the Strokes goal to finger tip over the bar.
The resulting corner saw the whole of Barnaby's team in the Strokes
box and Lee Rattenbury to head home for Barnaby to draw level, and
Gen with both hands on the title.
The final whistle blew and Generation Sports confirmed Div 1 CHAMPIONS.
Our gratitude goes
out to Barnaby FC and comisserations to Strokes FC.

16th
- Away to Strokes F.C (Lost 2-0)

Generation
Sports last game of the season, posed two teams fighting over
the division title. Both teams guaranteed promotion
and Gen needing just a point today to be crowned champions.
Gen started the game 4-5-1 against the 4-4-2 of Strokes, and
neither team really creating much in the way of clear cut
chances. Gen had a lot of the possession, but nothing in the
way of an end product. Their best effort of the half falling
to Jason McAree, but his 30 yard effort was over the target.
Then on the
half hour mark, Strokes broke down their right hand chanel,
the wingers cross was not fully dealt with, leaving John Hewitt
a free header into the goal from five yards out for Strokes
to lead 1-0.
Gen reverted
back to their familiar 4-4-2 formation, Chris Lewis partnering
Shane Brown up front and McAree from center mid to left mid.
This had no real immediate impact and again it was Strokes
who could have doubled their lead, only for a fine one handed
save from Gavin Wright in the Gen goal.
Gen
then suffered another blow just before half time, when skipper
Damian Rowlands clashed with a Strokes player, picking up
what looked like a bad knee ligament injury.
Rowlands replacement Brett Brumming.
Half
Time Strokes F.C 1-0 Gen Sports

Half
time substitution made, Jimmy McClean replacing Shane Brown
in a straight swap up front.
Chaz Albrecht taking the skippers armband.
However bearly a minute into the half and Strokes doubled
their lead, with a wonder strike from Ricki Draper, who beat
Gav in the Gen goal from 35 yards. Gav managed to get a hand
on it, but couldn't prevent the ball from crossing the line.
Gen,
now having to salvage something from the game, pushed Aaron
Beach up front.
Strokes happy to sit back on their lead, and Gen again having
a lot of possession, with no real threat to Strokes goal,
that was until the 70th minute when Axon's cross found Jimmy
McClean. Jims sublime touch, the ball hitting the hand of
the Strokes defender, fell kindly to McClean, only to be denied
by Strokes keeper from close out. The referee waving away
claims for a pen.
One last throw of the dice saw Hughes replace McAree on 75,
and it wasn't until the 82nd minute, when Gens best move of
the game opened up Strokes.
A great passing move starting with Axon and Lewis on Gens
right. The ball whipped into Strokes box for Hughes to latch
onto. His first time right footed shot beating the Strokes
keeper, only to find the base of the post, and the rebound
falling into the arms of the Strokes keeper.
Chaz
Albrecht also came close late on, but Strokes remained resolute
to close the game out.
Gens title hopes now in the balance, with Strokes having to
make up a 9 goal difference, with 2 games remaining.

F.C 2-0 Gen Sports.

2nd
- Away to Preston Hellings F.C (Won 2-7)

Gen Knowing
that only a win today would keep the pressure on Strokes,
their nearest competition to league winners. and it was Gen
who applied the early pressure going close from the 2nd minute.
Gen finally opened the scoring after a few near misses, with
a well worked move on 9 minutes when a lovely weighted through
ball from the middle of the park from McAree finding Jimmy
McClean. Jimmy's sublime first touch turning Preston's centre
back inside out, before cooly slotting home from close range.
One minute later and Gen conceeded a penalty for a supposed
push in the back from Brett Brumming on a Preston player.
This was a very odd decision, as not one of the Preston players
appealed.
The resulting penalty was well saved by Gavin Wright in the
Gen goal for justice to prevail.
27 minutes and Gen double their tally, again a pin point pass
from Jason McAree, this time finding Shane Brown to run in
on goal, again slotting the ball past the on rushing Preston
keeper for a 0-2 lead.
A minute later and from the kick off Chaz Albrecht intercepted
the ball, passing square to Brett Brumming, who played it
inside to Jonny Hindley, who as usual finds a simple pass
through to Shane Brown, who adds his second and Gen's third.
Gens fourth came from a free kick awarded to Gen. Jason McAree
upended central to the goal 30 yards out. McAree steps up
and unleashes a drive that deflects off of Prestons wall and
off of the inside of the post and into the net.
43 minutes on the clock and Gen really are coasting, dragging
Preston all over the pitch. The move again involving McAree,
who absolutly skinned Prestons right midfield, running down
Gens left, crossing for Phil Fennel who claims the OG and
a five nil lead, and really game over.
Half
Time Preston Hellings F.C 0-5 Gen Sports
|
|
Gens
half time team talk was really to focus on the job in hand
and two substitutions made.
Dan Hughes on for Paul Axon. Chris Lewis on for Jimmy McClean.
Imediate impact as Gen again pile men forward, this time resulting
in a penalty awarded to Gen, Phil Fennel being dragged down.
With no Jimmy McClean on the pitch and Gen missing a few pens
earlier in the season, up stepped Shane Brown to smash the
ball straight down the middle for his hat-trick and Gens sixth.
0-6 Gen and 48 minutes passed.
Then on 55 minutes Preston were awarded another penalty, in
what looks like a poor decision from the ref. Again Gen and
Preston players looking bemused as to why a penalty was awarded.
This looked like the only way that Preston were going to open
their tally.
Up stepped Michael Masoomi, this time scoring prestons first
and the scoreline now showing 1-6.
Gen really enjoying their football today, with McAree and
Hindley working the ball in the middle of the park, finding
pass after pass, a little too complacent at times, frustrating
the Preston players. McAree, Hughes, Brown, Hindley, Lewis
all going close, but resulting in no goals.
65 minutes in and Gen make their final substitution. The experienced
Kevin Austin on for Anthony Woodward and almost a goal with
his first touch. A corner fired in by Dan Hughes, finding
Austin's head, but just off target.
70 minutes in and Gen win a free kick, left centre of Prestons
penalty area. Kevin Austin places the ball, and sweetly lifts
it over the Preston wall and keepers head for
1-7 and Kev's first goal of the season.
75 minutes passed and Phil
Fennel is sent off for winning the ball twice, with two great
timed sliding tackles.
What a joke of a referee.
There seems to be no consistancy in this league.
Either the referee is very good or very poor. Today very poor.
Gen now playing with ten men change formation to one up front
to see the last 10 through, but again another poor referee
descision see Preston score their second, with the offside
flag raised.
Another good display from Gen, who today could, and should
have scored more.
Anyway good news just in - Strokes drew with Hotel De Ville,
meaning that only them beating us and needing to make up a
17 goal difference in their last 4 games could pip us to the
title.
Well done boys.

25th
- Away to Barnaby F.C (Won 0-2)
Visiting
Jackey Bakers, to take on Barnaby`s tough 11 Gen found themselves
4 key players short in this key game where a win would pile
pressure on Strokes. The only team that can beat them to the
Div1 title.
With no Paul Axon or Anthony Woodward and Albrecht and Hughes
delayed, Jason McAree played wide whilst the return of Arron
Beach gave the back row a solid look.
A brisk
wind and hard pitch gave no help for either team as any high
ball bounced away.
From the off Gen managed to get some control and made several
chances but the trend throughout the game was wayward finishing
from the forwards.
Gen tried to play their usual passing game whilst Barnaby
made use of route one but came up against an in form back
line of Brumming, Beech, Rowland and Thompson supported by
keeper Wright, who again put in a very solid performance.
With few chances Gen finally tried the long ball but again
unable to make anything in front of goal as Lewis, Brown and
McClean all failed to produce.
It is also fair to say that Barnaby`s keeper kept his team
in the game. A string of Gen corners were easily dealt with
by Barnaby until finally one hit the spot for Aaron Beech
at the far post to rise and head home for the lead.

The
game then returned to a mid field scrap. Gen changing formation
to 3-5-2 made little difference.
Barnaby came on strong for the final minutes of the half looking
for the equalizer, but the Gen back 3 stood firm, and closed
out the half deserving their lead.
Half
Time Barnaby F.C 0-1 Gen Sports
|
|
Starting
the second half where the first left off Barnaby's solid tackles
gave them a slight advantage but again Gens back line were
up to it and the few shots they got off were well dealt with
by Gav in the Gen goal.
Same as the first 45 Gens forwards found themselves in front
of goal only to shoot wide or snuffed out by Barnaby's keeper.
This was highlighted over a 4 minute period when Gen kept
the ball in the Branaby penalty area, passing and shooting,
the end product resulting in a goal kick.
A tired McClean gave way to Dan Hughes, who put in an outstanding
half hour.
Then the battered Karl Gilson who had started the game carrying
several injuries but fought for everything finally had to
come off for Phil Fennell, as Hughes dropped to midfield and
the final change of Brumming for Albrecht refreshing Gen and
giving them a new purpose.
With 20 minutes to go Gen picked up the pace as Lewis and
Brown found their second wind but still failed to alter the
score line.
Barnaby came back and although tiring were still in the game
at 0-1 and could upset Gen title hopes.
Slowly the minutes passed and a 0-1 win looked likely until
another corner and a few miss-kicks the ball fell kindly to
Aaron Beech some 8 yards out, perfectly striking the ball
passed defenders and forwards to beat an unsighted keeper
for his and Gens second.
A few niggles and a few minutes later Gen came off the pitch
with another big win.
Preston next week, where Gen will be looking to improve on
their goal difference, looking to their final game against
Strokes to complete their promotional season.
We must also praise today's ref Keith Stone, who after last
weeks display has restored confidence in the profession with
a fair to all performance.

18th
- Home to F.C
De Ville (Won 3-1)
Another
must win game for Gen Sports as Top met Second.
If Gen were to get 3 points at minster here today then they
were promoted. Injury saw Neil Thompson replace Aaron Beech
with Chris Lewis and Paul Axon prefered to Dan Hughes and
Brett Brumming in what was otherwise a unchanged starting
lineup to the one that
beat Saunders last week.
A delayed kick off due to the ref being fussy was a preview
of what was to come.
Gen kicked off and in usual fashion started plying their trademark
fast passing game, with Chris Lewis breaking down the left
multiple times in the opening 5 minutes without any end product
of the good play.
The game settled down and neither side could create any clear
cut chances, that was until 10 minutes in when a good ball
from Johnny Hindley put Jamie McClean through, unfortunatly
for him and Gen it was on his left and his attempt just missed
thentarget.
Gen spurred on from this and started pouring foward in numbers
with Damian Rowlands providing long cross field passes to
unsettle the Hotel DeVille back line.
On 15 minutes, after a series of corners the ball broke to
the back post with Shane Brown smashing home from close range.
1-0 Gen.

Gen did not sit back on their lead and after another 5 minutes
of controlling the game won another series of corners, this
time the ball falling to Rowlands, whos well struck shot hit
the top of the bar and out for a goalkick. Half time fast
appraoched with Gen in full control, DeVille not even having
a single shot.
The only sour point in the half was the ref's decision to
book Shane Brown for dissent and Anthony Woodward for a seemingly
nothing retailliation, when he was being kicked on the floor.
|
|
Second
Half and Gen knew that they were playing against 12 men. The
ref was not interested in football today, but seemed more
interested in being centre of attention, either that or he
was on TSFL commision by seemlessly booking Gens young guns.
On 55 minutes, Chaz Albrecht was played in on the left only
to be lunged at, ending being kicked in the nether region.
This resulted in just a free kick, with no booking.
Had Chaz been in a position to question this instead of being
on the deck, i am sure that he would have been booked, which
seemed to be the refs way.
Up stepped Rowlands to take the free kick, 40 yards out, aimed
his kick directly at the De Ville keeper. Under pressure the
De Ville keeper got hands to it, but could not prevent it
from ending up in his net for 2-0 to Gen.

Gen clearly overjoyed with a second goal, celebrated only
to be threatened with more bookings.
With a 2 goal lead Gen now needed to protect players and so
with Shane Brown on a booking was replaced by Dan Hughes.
The change injected a bit more pace into Gen and they started
creating more and more chances, none working the keeper though.
5 minutes later and Jason McAree replaced Paul Axon, almost
with immediate effect with a touch out of the sky from Chris
Lewis landed nicely for McAree to 'Ping' home from outside
the box into the top corner. Jason celebrating from the moment
it left his boot, with a girly squeel and 3-0 up.
You would have thought time had ran out for De Ville, that
was not the case as the ref seemed to stop the game for every
single incident.
One where McAree had run past his marker only to be taken
out of his run, after questioning the ref why there was no
free kick, was booked.
Likewise Dan Hughes was wrestled to the floor again his questioning,
witnessed by the bystanders resulted in him being booked.
This made Gen climb into their shell a bit and the rest of
the game being played in near silence. This suited De Ville,
and with 10 minutes remaining DeVille scored a consulation
goal. The much untroubled Gavin Wright in the Gen goal rushed
off his line only to be rounded by Ben Winsor to
slot home in the empty net.
Anthony Woodward Gens in-form centre back picked up an ankle
injury, and was replaced by Steve Gibson.
The only other events of the half was when the ref booked
Jamie McClean as he was in 1 on 1 only adjudged to be offside,
again his questioning resulted in a card.
With 3 games to go Gen have sealed promotion but will be looking
for another 3 points next week when the visit Barnaby.

11th
- Away to Saunders F.C (Won 1-4)
On a sunny
april morning Gen travelled to Warre Rec, somewhat a bogey
pitch in previous matches and were not disapointed as true
to past, the pitch was very dry and bobbly.
Today's opponents were Saunders, despite conceding 7 last
week to Hotel De Ville, this would be a tough test for Gen
and one they could not take lightly. Gen welcomed back Aaron
Beech, who slotted in at centre back alongside the ever reliable
Anthony Woodward and there was a starting place for Dan Hughes,
with Paul Axon and Jason McAree picking up knocks last week.
Gen kicked off and started the game trying to play their normal
free flowing football, but this proved difficult on the pitch
and was time to rethink their tactics.
It took about 10 minutes before Gen settled down and found
their new direct route to the saunders goal when right back
Damian Rowlands, previous goalkeeping experience showed as
he lauched the ball long and diagonally towards the front
line of Jimmy McClean and Shane Brown. A tactic that proved
effective all throughout the day.
As always Gen created plenty of chances and their first real
clear cut one fell to Dan Hughes, when Rowlands launched a
ball down the line for McClean who crossed first time for
the onrushing Hughes, who unfortuntely connected too well
and the ball sailed over the bar.
This spurred Gen on, who created chance after chance, with
Johnny Hindley, Karl Gilson and a double attempt from Brown
all going close but again for Gen not finding the back of
the net.
Half time came, and still 0-0 but on the plus side for Gen
Gavin Wright hadn't had a save to make all half.

Half

2nd Half.
Gen now against a slight wind, swapped their wingers over
and had Hughes playing from the left and Brett Brumming from
the right, started as they left off, controlling the match
with alot of possesion without breaking down Saunders, who
seemed happy with 10 men behind the ball.
On 60 minutes Gen made their 1st change with Chris Lewis replacing
Brumming, looking for a lead.
Moments later came the first sight of a goal from either side
as Hughes cut in from the left and smashed the ball goalwards
from about 30 yards only to see the keeper make a fantastic
save to deny Gen the opening they deserved.
Then on 66 minutes the unthinkable happened and a Saunders
free kick was awarded on the halfway line, but the ref moved
it foward 10yards and allowed Saunders to take it from the
new position, which they launched goalwards causing Wright
to tip over.
From the resulting corner a fumble from Wright resulted in
a goalmouth scramble with the ball being twice cleared off
the line by Hughes only to be deflected into the Gen goal
and a 1-0 lead for Saunders, against the run of play.
This inspired manager Phil Fennel to make a change Axon replacing
Hughes on the left and the dimension of the team change with
Gen now playing with a 3-5-2 formation. Beech moving to midfield,
and an almost immediate impact.
On 73 minutes on the clock, Gen equalised as a Beech header
found McClean slighly right of the Saunders goal, 16 yards
out and the in-form foward found the far corner of the net
for 1-1.
Gen now looked like they belived they could win and moments
later could have been leading as Hindley played the ball over
the top for Brown to beat the keeper and be brought down,
with the ref awarding the kick the opposite way and Brown
to adjudged to foul the keeper.
Saunders themselves then had 2 great chances to take the lead,
first as the foward cut in from the Gen right to smash against
the post and then moments later a Saunders corner found the
head of Ben Barber who hit the top of the bar.
77 minutes and Gen finally took the lead as the ball found
Brown on the edge of the Saunders box, who cleverly turned
his marker before using the outside of his boot to find the
net via the far post, a great finish.
Gen looking to hold onto a precious lead, then changed back
to 4-4-2 and again, this paid off immediately, with another
good chance as Axon, similar to Hughes cut in from the right
and again unleased a great strike, unfortunatly right at the
keeper.
2 minutes later Gen scored again, this time the ball picked
up on halfway line by McClean, who played it left to Chaz
Albrecht, who had to make a trademark strong 50-50 tackle
against two Saunders players, coming out on top, Albrecht
picked himself up beating the saunders defender to the ball
before delightfully putting Brown in with his unfavoured left
foot, Brown took it into his stride and cooly rounding the
keeper before finding the empty net.
The Rout was Complete on 83mins when Jonny Hindley found Axon,
who put the ball in for Brown, who just missed it only for
the Ghosting Chris Lewis to tap home at the back post.
A game that Gen controlled and never looked under threat,
good result in the end and with Hotel De Ville only managing
a draw, the league looks like a 2 team race between Gen and
Strokes.

Saunders FC 1-4 Gen

4th
- Home to Cramptons (Sunday) F.C (Won 1-0)
Gen with
a near full squad to choose from and having already beaten
Cramptons Away went into today's game full of confidence,
in what as always a battle of two very well matched sides.
Cramptons, missing from their first encounter,
welcomed back two of their influentual players midfielder
Luke Green and forward Lawrence Setterfield for today's game.
Gen again
started well moving the ball with some precise passing and
movement and had a very early chance to open the scoring,
when Jimmy McClean found a bit of space to narrowly poke the
ball wide of the Crampton's goal.
Finding Cramptons weakness of playing the ball down the channels
for Axon and Lewis enabled Gen to attack with fluidity and
really from the opening 20 it looked as though Gen would win
this game with ease. That was until around the 20 minute mark
Crampton's broke from a Gen attack and were awarded a penalty,
when Chaz Albrecht was judged to upend a Cramptons forward
with a last ditch challenge. The Cramptons forward later admitting
that no contact was made. I have to say that from the half
way line it looked a good challenge.
Anyway up stepped Crampton's big centre half, with only Gavin
Wright to beat in the Gen goal, (who saved a Cramptons pen
in the first game) and he dragged the ball wide of Gen's Goal
and the score remaining goaless.
This appeared to spur Gen on and immediately went on the attack,
this time Jason McAree firing a thunderbolt from about 30
yards out, narrowly missing the target.
Gen applying their passing and pace were now continuously
attacking Crampton's, trying to break the deadlock. Crampton's
playing their usual game against Gen, of digging in and breaking
up play with Luke Green bringing down McAree and Axon on every
occassion. This finally got the better of Jason, as he retalliated
towards the ref and immediately was booked.
Further chances from Lewis, McClean, Albrecht, Gilson, Axon
brought the half to a close in what should have been
Gen leading by two or three.
Half
time: Gen Sports 0-0 Cramptons
|
|
2nd Half,
Shane
Brown on for Jason McAree,
with Gen playing up the slight slope, and against the breeze.
This aided Cramptons, who were now finding most of the play
in the middle of the park. Luke Green of Cramptons battling
for every ball, tussling with Gen's Gilson and Hindley, and
it was a wonder how he was never given a yellow.
60 minutes and a Gen substitution Axon replaced by Dan
Hughes.
The energetic Hughes
almost had an immediate impact when he found space, running
at the Crampton defence, only to scuff his shot, then Chris
Lewis was involved in the box with a looping header that beat
the keeper only to be cleared off the line.
Cramptons then had their best spell in the game and were unlucky
not to have opened the scoring, when Gavin Wright was beaten
in the Gen goal to see the shot bounce off the crossbar.

Both teams
pressing for the winner, and Gen loosing a lot of possession
in the centre of the park.
Gen changed their formation and went 3-5-2, and this seemed
to work, as the hole in midfield was plugged straight away,
and allowed Gen to attack once again. The clock ticking down
and really a draw would have been a fair result. However Gen
had other ideas and in the final minute of the game Gen attack
down the right with Hughes linking with McClean, who made
it to the bye-line to cross for Cramptons Lawrence Setterfield
sliding in to block the cross to handball and give away a
penalty in favour of Gen.
Captain Damian Rowlands handed the ball and pressure over
to Jimmy McClean, who calmly scored, sending the keeper the
wrong way, with what was the final kick of the game.
The final whistle was blown and Gen celebrate a much needed
victory, watched by a few of their title chasing rivals Strokes
players, whos game was called off today.
Today's
referee, Martin Munson played an absolute blinder of a game.
He let the game flow, played the advantage where possible
and appeared very fair to both sides.

28th
- Away to Minnis Bay F.C (Won 0-1)
Gen top
of the league and playing some of the football that they played
early on in the season. Scoring goals for fun, took the field
today, or should i say subbuteo size pitch today without the
services of Hindley, Gibson, Beach, all injured and Thompson
sick.
The game started
as expected with Gen controlling, winning corner after corner,
and finally got their just rewards from about the sixth corner,
when Jason McAree swung the ball into the box, resulting in
Shane Brown to pounce at the back stick and slam home into
the top of Minnis's net from close range for a one nil lead.
The remaining
of the half was pretty much the same as the first twenty,
and it was a shame to see Gen struggling to convert any of
the chances that they had made. Chris Lewis coming close,
with the goalie to beat to see his effort coming back of the
upright.
Gen left the
field at half time a little dejected, having created 16 corners
and only scoring once in the half.
Half
time: Minnis Bay 0-1 Gen Sports
|
|
2nd Half
Kicked off, with Gen playing up the slight slope, which probably
suited them as the pitch was so short and a lot of balls were
over hit first half, going out of play.
Again though whilst making all of the running were really
finding the final third a problem. All credit to Minnis, they
dug deep and seemed to hold firm, coping with everthing that
Gen threw at them.
Double Substitution
for Gen on 55mins, Adam Hills replaced by Dan Hughes.
Chris Lewis replaced by Phil Fennel.
In the
89th minute Gen had an appeal for a penalty turned down when
Jimmy McClean rounded to Bay fullbacks to be upended in the
box, the referee waving play on, denying Gen a chance for
two-nil. Then a real gift from the Ref in the 92nd minute,
when he did award Gen a penalty for hand ball, which was a
bit debatable. Shane Brown nominated himself to take the spot
kick, which was poorly placed for the Bay keeper to save.
A real
frustrating day, the only positive was a wins a win and
3 points in the bag to remain top of the table. On another
day and a full size regulation pitch, who knows it could have
been double figures.

21st-
Home to Port & Anchor (Won 6-1)
With Port
and Anchor suprisingly beating Gen earlier in the year, Gen
turned up to today's game raring to go and gain some vengence.
With almost a whole squad minus Dan Hughes to choose from
you would have to have fancied Gen for this one.
Only one change was made from last weeks winning line up,
Neil Thompson replacing Brett Brumming in centre of defence.
The Game started as ever with gen flying out the blocks creating
2 clear cut chances almost immediately with Chris Lewis unfortunatly
squadering both at the keeper. As the game started to unfold
Gen controlled alot of the ball and continued to miss key
breaks with Jimmy McClean, Karl Gilson and Paul Axon going
Close, and it seemed to be a repeat of the FC Thanet game
where Gen simply couldnt get on the scoresheet, that was until
20 minutes in, when Steve Gibson played the ball down the
left, to just about be kept in by Chris Lewis, when all the
P&A players stood still expecting the ref to blow but Chris
played to whistle and cut it back for Karl Gilson who forced
the keeper into a really good save, unfortanley for him though
Lewis didnt stop and pounced on the rebound for 1-0.
Similar to the thanet game Gen gained confidence from the
goal and started pouring on with good wing play from McAree
and Axon suplying good balls and crosses for Gen's front two
to create chances with. Although Gen created plenty of chances
it took them another 15 minutes before they doubled their
lead when McClean crossed deep fom the right only to be missed
by everyone and Axon never gave up the cause and kept the
ball in play, before crossing perfectly to the front post
for the onrushing Chris Lewis to score a similar goal to his
'disallowed' goal last week.
Now with a healthier lead Gen started to turn up the heat
and were playing in triangles with McAree and Axon again at
the heart of a lot of it and on many occasions making the
Anchor players look silly.
Then 3 minutes before half time Gen scored the important 3rd
when the midfield mystro Johnny Hindley as always passed an
inch perfect ball through for the in form McClean to cut in
and delightfully chip the keeper for his 7th goal in 4 games.

Half
time: Gen 3 -0 Port & Anchor

|
2nd Half
Kick Off and you wouldnt have thought Gen had a break as they
continued to move the ball around the pitch with the P&A players
in many occasions chasing shadows.
7 minutes into the second half and Gen had the ball in the
goal yet again as good wing play from McAree and Lewis and
a mix up in the Anchor Defence allowed McClean to fire home
from 2 yards at the back post for 4-0.
Gen Seemingly cruising the game now, they could afford to
make some changes and on the hour mark Damian Rowlands and
Chaz Albrecht were brought on to replace Thompson and Hills.
It wasnt long after the changes where made when Gibson played
a good one,two with Axon down the left to cross the ball to
the penatly spot where McClean lept up to score a rare looping
header for his Hat-trick and his 12th of the season, one behind
Gen's top scorer Shane Brown.
With a 5 Goal advantage Gen again changed personnel on 65mins
as Brown was brought on to replace Hindley, with Lewis dropping
into midfield. Brown was almost immediately amonst the goal
scorers as Gavin Wright started a Gen Counter attack. He threw
the ball out to Albrecht who released Brown 1 on 1 only to
see his shot end up near the corner flag, much to his anger
and disapointment. (see below)

Not long after however Lewis, Gilson and McAree played in
triangles down the right for Karl Gilson to cross into the
path of Brown who's 1st touch took him away from the defender
before cooly finding the far corner and regain a 2 goal advantage
at the top of the Gen scoring charts!
With the Port and Anchor Players deflated and the game more
than wrapped up came the only sour point in what was a nice
game of football when the P&A centre back seemed to take a
dislike to Gen's Paul Axon and had to be held back by teammates
causing a slight delay in the game.
2 minutes to go Anchor were given a generous free kick wide
left, which was half delt with by Gen's defence only for a
midfielder to fire back into the box and a player standing
right in front of Gavin Wright tapped home in what looked
like an easy offside descision only for the Gen defence to
turn around and see Karl Gilson 5 yards behind them with his
head in his hands!
Another good routine win for Generation who extend their lead
at the top over Strokes.
Final score Gen Sports 6-1 Port & Anchor

14th
- Away to Cramptons (Sunday)F.C (Won 1-2)
Probably
the most important game so far this season, saw Generation
remain top of the league.
Chaz's 21st birthday last night, and as a result a few changes
today. Albrecht sidelined, Thompson out and no show from Brown
or Hughes meant that Gen started with a change of personnel
from last week. That said the side selected was a good enough
match for any of the divisions opposition.
This was always going to be a battle and Gen started the game
with a lot of passion and some great passing in midfield with
Jonny Hindley once again pulling the strings.
On 15 minutes Gen got their just rewards when left back Steve
Gibson played an inch perfect pass down Gen's left wing into
the path of the in form Jimmy McClean, who took a couple of
touches and unleashed an unstoppable shot from 20 yards out
hitting the underside of the bar and into the net for 0-1
to Gen.
This settled Gen and from the kick off were getting men behind
the ball, breaking up anything that Cramtons threw at them.
Substitution
made on 30 minutes Chris Lewis replacing injured Phil Fennel.
35 minutes in and Gen doubled their lead, when a loose ball
fell to Hindley, who cleared the Cramtons defence, for the
ball to take a nasty bounce before the keeper, who could only
manage to put the ball into his own net.
Hindley claims the goal, but i think OG is more likely.

Gen deserving
their two goal lead, settled into their passing game fairly
quickly after the break with Jason McAree beating players
for fun only to be upended on many occassions.
Fair play to Jason he never took the bait and just got up
and carried on.
The only way that Gen were going to give up this two goal
advantage was if the referee had a big influence on the game,
and that he did as 5 minutes into the half and Cramptons actually
got as far as Gen's box. Their forward deserving of an oscar
went down under no challenge as witnessed by all neutral supporters
on the sideline for the ref to point to the spot, awarding
Cramptons an undeserved penalty.
The resulting penalty was well placed low and hard goal bound
to the keepers right for Gavin Wright in the Gen goal to pull
off an amazing save turning the ball around his post and justice
done for the game to remain at 0-2.
This spurred Gen on and were now controlling the game. Endless
running from Axon in midfield and Lewis pressurising the Cramptons
back line. Gilson and Hindley commanding the midfield. Jason
McAree playing with flair and Gen's back line of Hills, Woodward,
Brumming and Gibson unphased by Cramptons lone striker in
Dan Piper.
On around 60 minutes Gen once again found the back of Cramptons
net, when Gen broke down their right wing with Axon linking
up with McClean, who cut the ball back into the path of Lewis
to drill home from a few yards out to be unfairly ajudged
off-side. Again a poor descision from the ref, also witnessed
by the neutrals of the game on the adjacent pitch.
This enforced Cramptons to change their formation to try and
salvage something from the game and made a substitution, going
from 4 - 5 - 1 to 4 - 4 - 2. This applied a little more pressure
on Gen, but they seemed strong up until the 65th minute when
Cramptons won a free kick deep in the Gen half the resulting
kick played into the Gen box and not cleared for a well struck
volly from a Cramptons player beating Gavin Wright for 1-2.
Gens second substition made 5 minutes later Hills replace
by Damian Rowlands at right back.
Cramptons now throwing bodies forward and on 70 minutes a
loose ball is played down Cramptons right. The advancing Gavin
Wright came for the ball, only to be judged to handle outside
of his box, and a number of Gen players covering the Gen goal.
This resulted in the poorest of refereeing descisions that
i have ever witnessed at this level and Gavin receiving a
straight Red.
Damian replaced Gav in the Gen goal as a result of this to
see the game through and a very good team performance despite
playing against some very poor officiating.
Final score Cramptons (Sunday) F.C 1- 2 Gen Sports.

7th
- Home to F.C Thanet United (Won 10-0)
With the
disappointment of not winning last week and with other results
going Gen's way we could have been top, but hey that's history.
With no game for Strokes, this was an ideal time to bang in
the goals and go top of the division in the process.
New signings of Aaron Beech (Centre Back) and Gavin Wright
(Goalkeeper) were drafted in to bolster the Gen defence. Only
for Beech to take no further part after sustaining an bad
ankle injury within 10 minutes. His replacement Paul Axon.
Things were not going according to plan and a number of chances
missed by Gen early on. Phil Fennel, playing a holding midfield
role, decided that too many opportunities missed up top, so
promoted himself to a striker, and what a change it turned
out to be.
On the
30th minute mark, Gen won a corner, swung in by Jason McAcree,
finding the head of Fennel for a 1-0 lead.
This lead encouraged Gen to advance in numbers and 5 minutes
later added to their tally, with a good passing move down
their Right. The ball crossed again by McAree for a first
time shot from Fennel for 2-0.
Then Just before half time Gen force a mistake in Thanet's
area, the ball not cleared, falling to Brett Brumming and
after three attempts he finally connects cleanly, finding
the net for a first half lead of 3-0.

Half Time

Unlike
last week Gen were not going to give away a vital lead.
Gen with their tails up looking like the team that were firing
on all cylinders early on in the season were determined to
score for fun.
On 51 minutes came Gens best move of the game. Shane Brown
linking up well with Jimmy McClean for Jimmy to cut the ball
back into the path of Brown to slot home from around 10 yards
out for 4-0.
Thanet unable to settle and Gen bombarding their penalty area
add to their lead on 54 minutes when Brown won the ball in
midfield, running at pace finding McClean on the right to
drive the ball into Thanet's box for Phil Fennel's hat-trick,
5-0.
56 minutes a corner won by Gen, which is taken by Shane Brown.
The loose ball falling at Fennel's feet, who looks up and
delightfully
chips the ball into the top corner of
Thanet's net for 6-0.
65 minutes and a double substitution for Gen. McAree and Brumming
replaced by Karl Gilson and Dan Hughes.
75 minutes and Jimmy McClean picks the ball up from deep inside
the oppo's half, beating two of the Thanet defenders, calmly
slipping the ball under the keeper for 7-0.

A minute
later and Gen are on the prowl again.
This time with the ball breaking to Fennel, who lobs the ball
over Thanet's back line to McClean to score from close range
and Gen's lead extended to 8-0.
81 minutes ball worked down Gen's left. The loose ball looks
as though it may go out for a Thanet goal kick, Hughesy thinks
otherwise and chases, just managing to keep the ball in play.
He finds Paul Axon, who slots home from 3 yards out for 9-0.
The icing on the cake came when Jimmy McClean broke free,
taking on the Thanet defence, to be fowled in the box. He
managed to keep his feet and with a magnificent piece of enginuity
he cheekily back heels the ball past the onrushing Thanet
keeper for a well deserved hat-trick and a great weekend for
Gen, who now head the Div1 table.

21st
- Home to Saunders F.C (Drew 3-3)

With Gen Desperate to get back to winning ways and put the
disapointment of the last month behind them, Saunders, todays
opponents where going to prove no easy obsitcal despite their
own bad run of form. The game starts as ever with Gen controlling
alot of the possesion without threatening too much, until
the 12th minute when a good bit of wing play from Shane Brown
left Jamie McClean with what looked to be a tap in at the
back post but he Squandered the chance. This Narrow miss sparked
Generation into a more threatening force and wing backs Brett
Brumming and debutant Steve Gibson seeing alot of the ball
in advanced areas. Gen went close on a few occasions with
long shots from Jason McAree and Phil Fennel but still no
goal.
The Deadlock Was broken on the 25th minute, when a well taken
quick free kick from Fennel put Brown in down the left, who
got to the byline and cut it back for McClean to score. 1-0
Gen.
One was never going to be enough in this game and Generation
knew this as they controlled the ball with accurate passing
allowing Sauders very little of it. The lead was doubled shortly
after by Gen, with a good passing passage From Johnny Hindley
and McAree, releasing McClean in the box to be brought down
and the ref giving a dubious penalty desicion.
McClean stepped up to score Gen's 1st Penalty in 4 Attempts.
Saunders had a chance just before the half time whistle, with
a long ball downfield and the foward sending a looping strike
over keeper Damian Rowlands only to see it crash of the bar
and be cleared by Brumming.
Half Time Gen
Sports 2-0 Saunders F.C
|

Saunders were
never going to go down without a fight in this game and although
Gen looked good value for their lead, 2-0 was still a vunerable
position to be in.
Gen Started pretty much as they ended the first half retaining
alot of the ball without threatening and this would have encouraged
Saunders, who's long ball game seemed the best option with
the pitch becoming increasingly unplayable. Saunders got a
reward on the Hour mark when Shane Brown was dis-posessed
in the middle of the pitch and the long ball over the top
of the static Generation Defence allowed Saunders foward Dave
Jones to cut in from the wing and smash home.
Saunders were now, like Gen in the 1st half, sparked into
life and they continued pushing foward looking for an equaliser.
This meant they were always subject to the Gen counter and
was almost caught on 65minutes when McClean was brought down
edge of box, up stepped Fennel to bend the free kick to the
top corner only to be denied from one of the saves of the
season.
Generation started to become frustrated and the pitch wasnt
helping them, Saunders could see this and were bombarding
Gens defence with long balls. Gen Gave away a corner on 68
minutes and after a goal mouth scramble, Saunders equalised
via centre back Ben Barber.
Gen's sideline feared the worst now and wasn't disapointed
as it took Saunders no longer than 15 seconds to complete
the comback, a badly taken kick off from Gen left centre back
Neil Thompson with a Decision to make on this occasion, unfortunately
he made the wrong one.
Now Gen Chasing the game, had to change tactics and play the
long ball as well, which almost straight away payed off, with
Karl Gilson forcing the keeper into another great save.
On 72 minutes however, it could have all been game over for
Gen as a strike from the edge of the box took a huge whip
of the surface, hit Rowlands on the arm and went millimetres
past the post.
Generation got their equaliser as the ball broke again down
the left with Brown who sqaured the ball right across the
6 yard box and running on to it, right back Brett Brumming
to score his fourth of the season.
Gen Sub: 74mins - Albrecht for Fennel, shortly followed by
Hills for Brumming on 76mins.
The Pitch now really cutting up, becoming a mud bath, neither
side could find that extra little spark they needed to gain
all 3 points and so the match ended a very entertaing 3-3.
All in all Generation will take the point here and may count
themselves a little lucky to have that, as other title contenders
Strokes lost to Cramptons. Gen will no doubt be looking to
get their second half to season underway next week, when they
host FC Thanet.

7th
- Away to Maidstone Rangers (cup) (Lost 4-3)
Generation
started the day at Westcoast for an early journey to Maidstone,
with confidence dented by the past couple of weeks and a number
of players missing due to injury, things looked bleak.
And the wobbly start continued as Gens back three of Brumming,
Thompson and Albrecht making early mistakes, it was a wonder
that Maidstone never scored earlier than the 15 minutes it
took them.
Maidstone worked the ball through the flat back three, with
Rowlands in the Gen goal and Albrecht's lack of
communication between them gifted Maidstone their first goal,
when their lines could have so easily have been cleared.
Then to make matters worse on 23 Maidstone add a second, working
the ball down their left, with another through ball for the
forward to latch onto and score from an acute angle for two-nil.
This seemed to spur on Gen, who were playing some delightful
football in patches. This fast moving play lead to Gen winning
a free kick on 35 minutes on their left, taken short by Jonny
Hindley to Paul Axon, who's first time shot is blocked, the
ball comes out to Jimmy McClean who shoots from 20 yards out
under the desparing dive of the Maidstone keeper for 2-1.
With the half coming towards an end on 47 minutes Maidstone
win a corner, which is swung in, and again like previous weeks
the second ball is not dealt with by Gen, coming out to a
Maidstone boot, through a number of players and into the net
for 3-1.
A minute from the restart and Maidstone win the ball, pumping
it long over the flat Gen back three for their advancing forward
to shoot first time, finding the back of the net for a 4-1
half time lead.
Half
Time Maidstone Rangers 4-1 Gen Sports

|
Gens half time
team talk was much to be desired, but appeared to do the trick.
Woodward was brought back into the defence and Brumming given
a free roll to advance forward to try and reduce the deficit.
The second half was much as the first, with Gen now playing
with more fluidity and they got their reward when on 55 minutes
a perfectly placed through ball from Axon for McClean to finish
the move with a goal for 4-2.
Gen
make a substitution on 70minutes, Jack Albrecht on for Phil
Fennel.
The game starting to flow in Gen's favour, but no real clear
cut chances, until 85 minutes when Gen win a corner. Swung
in by Hindley, which initially was cleared by Maidstone, as
far as Axon, who charges down the right wing crossing the
ball back onto the head of Brett Brumming, who
heads into the goal for a thrilling last 5 minutes and the
lead reduced to 4-3.
The last five plus minutes saw Gen, who were the much fitter
side making a few chances, but the 4-1 deficit at half time
proved too much to overcome. On another day, with a full squad
i am sure that Gen would have seen off this Maidstone side.
All in all Gen showed some of the character that had been
missing over the last two weeks and they can now concentrate
on winning the Div 1 title.

- Away to Strokes F.C (Lost 0-4)
With last
weeks performance out of the way, Gen looked to capitalise
on their league win over Div 1 rival Strokes.
With overnight freezing temperatures it was debatable whether
or not the game should have gone ahead, however making no
excuses it did and this appeared to suite Strokes the better.
The first 10 minutes saw, as expected a pretty even match,
with both teams not really creating any clear cut chances.
That was until Strokes put together a nice passing move down
Gens left hand side, crossing the ball into Gens box for Chaz
Albrecht to head clear, only for the ball to land at the feet
at a Strokes player, who's first time shot beat Rowlands in
the Gen goal for Strokes to take the lead.
Gen settled quickly into the restart, creating a good chance
for Albrecht. As he was about to shoot, the ball took a nasty
bounce on the frozen pitch and the shot scewed wide of the
Strokes Goal.
The rest of the half was pretty much the same as the first
ten minutes, with both teams giving nothing away.

Half
Time Strokes F.C 1-0 Gen Sports

|
The Second half
kicked off and within two minutes, strokes make it 2-0.
A through ball from Strokes midfield, catching Gen's back
line square. Anthony Woodward looking for Rowlands in the
Gen goal to advance and clear his lines. Rowlands stayed rooted
to the Gen goal, allowing the Strokes forward time to poke
home from close range.
65 minutes and a repeat of goal one really.
Strokes
win a corner that appeared to be dealt with by the Gen defence,
once again the clearence falling to a Strokes player, who's
first time shot is goal bound, with Rowlands getting his hand
to it, but not avoiding the ball ending up in the top corner
of Gens net for a 3-0 lead.
Strokes
fourth came from a solo effort from a right footed left midfielder,
who picked the ball up from the edge of Gens box, rounding
4 Gen players and cooly slotting home past Damian Rowlands
for 4-0.
To cap Gens, and Rowlands bad day at the office, Chaz Albrecht
won a penalty for Gen on 83 minutes, resulting in Gens penalty
taker Rowlands dragging the ball wide.
Final score Strokes F.C 4- 0 Gen Sports.

24th
- Away to Windsor Decor (Lost 0-5)
With last
weeks performance and advancement in the Kent junior cup,
this looked set to be a good game. Both teams fielding some
very good players.
Windsor Decor were able to settle the quicker after being
gifted a first goal lead after 2 minutes from a mix up between
Goalkeeper Damian Rowlands and the consistant Neil Thompson
at the heart of the Gen defence, allowing the very pacey Dan
Dolton to nip in to open the scoring for Decor.
Gen then started playing some nice football in bits, but never
really testing the Decor keeper, Shane Brown coming closest
with a volly from distance.
Then on 24 minutes a piece of majic come from the boot of
Nick Bagley, who picked the ball up from the left side of
Gen's box, cutting inside and unleashing an unstoppable shot,
dipping over Rowlands into the top of the net for Decor to
take a two nil lead.
Then after 25 minutes came Gen's first booking. McAree winning
a free kick about 25 yards out, wanting to take it quickly,
against the ref's wishes and McAree's frustration saw him
go into the book.
The resulting free kick was cleared with Decor on the counter
attack down Gens Right, for the Decor advancing player to
be brought down by Thompson, also ending in a booking, when
perhaps a quiet word from the ref would have surficed.
On the half hour mark saw a near on action replay from Bagley,
this time his shot being magnificently saved by Rowlands.
The half, and game was near on over after 42 minutes with
Dan Dolton crossing from the right. The Ball not dealt with
by the Gen defence ricocheting a couple of times, falling
at the feet of Bagley to drive home from 6 yards for Decor
to lead the half 3-0.
Half
Time Windsor Decor 3-0 Gen Sports
|
|
Second half saw
two immediate substitutions.
McClean on for Brown and Lewis on for the injured Woodward.
Gen trying to salvage something from the game change to a
more attacking 4-4-2 from 4-5-1.
Gen not really playing with any fluidity or shape, committing
too many players forward got caught from a fast move down
Gens right hand side. Decor's long ball over the top for Dolton
to out pace Adam Hills (Gen right back). Dolton looking to
cross from a tight angle for the ball to loop over Rowlands
and into the back of the Gen net for Dolton's second and Decor's
fourth and 60 minutes on the clock.
Gen throwing
caution to the wind. On 70 minutes win a free kick on the
right side. Rowlands in the Gen goal with nothing to loose
advances forward leaving no one in the Gen goal.
The free kick dealt with by Decor, played out of defence to
none other than Dolton, who collects the ball to pass into
the Gen net beating the embarrased diving Rowlands with ease
to round off a flattering 5-0 win to Windsor Decor.
Final score Windsor Decor 5- 0 Gen Sports.

17th
- Home to Fulchester Utd (Won 2-0)

With no
game for 9 weeks, we were not expecting miracles. However
this is probably the best complete performance from a Gen
side that we have ever had privilage of seeing.
The game was expected to be boys v men as Fulchester's bully
boy reputation and pre match speech heard from the Gen changing
room never phased a young gen side, who started the game at
an electrifying pace, with some precision passing against
a more physical Fulchester side.
On the half hour mark Gens best move of the half came through
debutant Tom Hickman releasing the ball disecting the Fulchester
defence for lone striker Chris Lewis to beat the advancing
keeper, only to see his lobbed effort cleared of the line.
Just before half time Gen were unlucky not to take the lead
with a quick counter attack, which Fulchester's keeper pulling
off a good save and a goalmouth scramble, the ball coming
out to Dan Hughes, to cross for Paul Axon to hit the far post.
Half time whistle and a satisfied Gen side knowing that patience
would prevail. No real clear cut chances for Fulchester, with
a resilient Gen back line.
Half
Time Gen Sports 0-0 Fulchester United
|
|
Second half substitution,
Gen top scorer Shane Brown on for a straight replacement for
Chris Lewis.
As the second half started you could have predicted Fulchester's
half time team talk and game plan of kicking lumps out of
the gen side.
The game continued with gen playing the better football and
looking the more likely to score, and on 57 minutes they capitalised
with a one two between Hughesy & Jason McAree, for Hughes
to put in an inch perfect cross for Shane Brown to nod in
at the front post off the underside of the bar for 1-0.
Gen were expecting Fulchester to come straight back at them,
but excellent work from the Gen midfield of Axon, McAree,
Hickman, Hughes and Gilson, backed up by the defence of Albrecht,
Woodward, Thompson, Brumming and Rowlands dismissed any such
attempts.
65 minutes - sub. McClean replaces Hughes and a 4-4-2 formation
saw a near on immediate impact, with McAree taking a quick
throw to McClean, who returned the ball to Macca, and on his
unfavoured left peg put in a cross towards the far post narrowly
missing Brown, but finding the onrushing Axon's head for a
2-0 lead.
This clearly angered Fulchester, who were now looking to hospitalise
some of the gen players, with a few nasty late takles and
kick outs aimed at Gen's players, who did well not to react.
73 minutes - sub. Adam Hills, straight replacement for Brett
Brumming at left back.
From then on Fulchester changed to 3-4-3, in hope of salvaging
anything from the game and their only real chance came 5 minutes
from time, when they broke away from Gens defence to be one
on one with Rowlands, only to be thwarted by the outstanding
Woodward at the heart of the Gen defence.
A very well deserved win, with gen looking stronger for 2010.
Final score Gen Sports 2- 0 Fulchester United.

15th
- Away to Red Cow FC (Won 1-7)
After breakfasting
at sponsors West Coast, which was not without incident Gen
took the drive to Hythe to meet the unknown Red Cow FC in
this Kent Junior Cup tie. With a 2 hour break in the otherwise
appalling weather the ref gave the ok to play.
At the off it was thought that the teams were evenly matched
and for the first 10 minutes this was borne out as both sides
got into the swing of the game, each winning early corners,
which were dealt with.
Gens passing game slowly picked up and a couple of wide runs
from Shane Brown showed that Gen had pace to take on the slower
Red Cow defence and it was this that opened the score on 15.
Shane ran wide with the ball then drove towards the Cow penalty
area, hitting a low ball that ran across the open goal to
the waiting Karl Gilson who managed to get a foot in through
a strong defence.
The goal seemed to shock Red Cow both on and off the pitch
and the game swung in Gens favour.
Now on the front foot Gen had a 15 minute period where they
put away another 2 goals and had most of the play. The second
only minutes after the first as Shane ran at the Cow defence
from the right sending in a low, well placed shot for 0-2.
Not giving Red Cow time to re-group Gen went forward again
to see Chris Lewis, ever present around the far post, latch
onto a cross and, like Karl, got a foot between defenders
and keeper to knock home from a yard out.
Red Cow tried to come back and built several good chances
but failed to finish as Gens defence held.
On 20 minutes Damo who had a fairly quiet 20 collected the
ball in front of a RC striker (not sure how) and ended up
dislocating a finger. To many others this would have been
game over but determined to carry on, knowing that Gen had
no real replacement, had it popped back in by Woody (now know
as the doctor) to carry on.
Here the game seemed to even out a little and saw some sharp
midfield play from Red Cow who tested Damo in Gens goal several
times. However, it was Gen who once again were clinical as
a cleared ball fell to Brett Brumming who caught it on the
volley for what was a perfect 25 yard strike giving keeper
no chance for 0-4 and game over to Gen.
Red Cow battled on and we saw chances at both ends with one
good chance falling to RC as their number 3 tried to get a
foot to high ball and a frenzied few seconds followed, Gen
unable to clear as Red Cow hit the bar. The half ended with
Gen pressing as Phil Fennel nearly got a tap in and some meaty
midfield tackles from both sides whilst at the other end Hillsy
saved the day with a fine goal line clearance closing the
half at 0-4.

Cow FC 0-4 Gen Sports

|
The restart saw
Gen again on top and on 55 mins put together one on the best
moves of the game when Chris Lewis collected the ball on the
touch line and played a one 2 with Shane. Chris then drove
forward and pinged the ball low and hard past the keeper and
just missed by the diving poacher Phil.
On 65 mins Shane was subbed for Dan Hughes, RC might have
been please to see the back of Shane but only for a few minutes
as Dan controlled the right firing in a variety of crosses
keeping RC on the back foot.
Moments later Chris, from well inside Cows area laid a nice
ball back to Karl who touched it forward (was it a shot) to
Phil Fennel. 3 yards from the right post, a deft back heal
from Phil found the net for 0-5.
Only minutes later Phil started and finished a move with a
shot which came off the bar. Around 70 minutes the ever running
Paul Axon played the ball in, missing the again diving Phil
and keeper, for Chris to play into the goal past a despairing
defender for his 2nd.
5 mins later Dan came in from the right and played Chris in,
for his hat trick, and subsequently subbed for Paul Cooper,
and a very happy 21st for Chris.
On 80 Karl Gilson made way for Jonny Hindley as the game continued
in Gens favour but as often in these games Gen had a moment
of indecision and a call by Damo was ignored by Woody who's
wayward clearance fell to a RC forward who took the shot to
beat Damo for a final score of
1-7.
This was another good performance by Gen and it seemed that
Red Cow may not have been at their best showing some class
moves throughout the game.
It would be difficult to pick a player of the match as every
one performed well. The ever running Paul Axon, Neil in defence,
Karl holding mid field, Jasons great one touches, Brett and
Woody not giving an inch backed up by the rest. But if only
for the grit shown by Damo for the dislocation let alone some
fine keeping gets my MOTM.

8th
- Away to Hotel De Ville (Won 1-4)
Only separated
by goal difference this was a big game for both teams.
Unfortunately the pitch and the over fussy ref were less than
helpful to this showcase game. With the minutes silence over
for rememberence Day, Deville kicked off to pass the ball
around their mid field but Gen soon got into their stride
and turned up the heat. Hughesy, who has been outstanding
this season, collecting the ball from the right and ran forward,
a perfect pass sent top goal scorer Shane Brown on his way.
Shooting from distance the
De ville keeper did well to get a hand to the ball but only
pushed it into the path of Chris Lewis who had a not so easy
tap in on 3 minutes.
Gen kept up the pressure giving De ville only moments in their
oppositions half as Gens defence put on a class show.
On 10 minutes, De ville, defending a corner, cleared only
as far as Hughes on the right, two touches fired in but just
wide.
Minutes later Shane, who would be caught off side many times
but not here, was through with Chris Lewis clearly off side
but not interfering, was flagged.
Shane ran through and found the net, the ref gave the goal,
but after speaking to De ville's lino gave a free kick.
The ever up-for-it Jason McAree took exception to this and
after an exchange with the ref was yellow carded.
All this comotion raised Gens game.
Paul Axon had a shot well saved from a corner and Chris Lewis
shot just wide from a run. There were several half chances
before Deville pressed and won a corner which was well defended
but showed that at one nil De ville were well capable scoring.
De ville's first real effort came from a distance shot clearing
Gen's bar.
On 30 mins Dan H again played a perfect ball for Paul Axon
to collect, a straight run with only the keeper to beat Axon
jinked left then right and tapped in over the diving keeper,
this was Gen at their best but again flagged off side.
Gen came on again and controlled the mid field with hard tackles
and interplay. Another long ball to Shane caught De ville
cold, making light work of the heavy pitch over 15 metres
Brown fired home and Gen looked comfortable. Hughes, Axon,
Brown and Lewis continued to test
De ville's resolve as over and over they pierced the defence
to work Deville's keeper, or just going wide.
One moment of hope came for the team in Blue when Damian Rowlands
had to make a stop to the top right from one of a few on target
shots, he also making a fine scrambled save just inside the
penalty area.
There were a few goalmouth scrambles for Gen to deal with
before half time but in general Gen managed to prevent any
sort of shot coming in and those that did were off target
as the half finished at 0-2.

The second half
gave Gen the slope against a brisk wind but seemed unstoppable
as Hughes on a trade mark run down the right sent in a low
cross behind the Deville defence as Lewis ran in from the
left for another 2 metre touch in and his second of the game.
Not giving up Deville picked up their game and seemed to get
forwards with more purpose working Gens defence but the only
real threat came from corners and dead ball kicks calling
Damo in the gen goal to action.
Now Gen were putting together some great midfield moves, Jason
made some wonderful touches as Woody and Karl gave Deville
no time.
Gen also had their share of corners which kept Deville keeper
busy making some fine saves.
The game went to and fro seeing both Paul Axon and Shane Brown
shoot wide but it seemed that Gen were slowly taking their
foot off the peddle.
75 minute substitutions changed that as Cooper for Lewis and
McClean for Hughes soon lifted the action, and within minutes
almost with his first involvement McClean continuing where
Hughes had left off, made a run down the right getting behind
the De Ville defence, firing in a testing cross for the on-coming
Jason and Shane. Neither managed a touch nor did the keeper
as the ball swung into the goal for 0-4.
A late change saw Phil on for the injured Karl Gilson and
like McClean found the net almost with his first touch but
clearly off side.
However, the game was not over and any thought that at last
Gen would come away with a clean sheet were dashed. Swinging
in the ball in from a free kick, defence and keeper were caught
as the ball came off the post to the feet of several De ville
players, only inches away from the line it took an age before
a tap in, (reflections of Port & Anchor) ended the game at
1-4.

- Home to Preston Hellings F.C (Won 9-2)
Winter
arrived in Thanet with a vengeance today and forced the referee
to abandon the game after 70 minutes with a 9-2 score line.
Gen, kicking with the wind, took control of the game forcing
the game, with Preston to defend for long periods. Several
half chances came and on 5 minutes Dan Hughes broke on the
right, crossing the ball to come off a Preston defender for
1-0.
Five minutes later a cross from Shane Brown found Phil Fennel
for a 10 yard shot, 2-0.
On twelve minutes Paul Axon's corner kick was met by Karl
Gilson for a contested header and another goal. Another run
through the centre rewarded Shane with a fine goal, 4-0, (Shane
now closing in on leagues top scorer).
Minutes later Jason McAree tried his hand with a run at the
defence, firing just wide. Moments later Jason ran again firing
in from wide for a headed own goal and a 5-0 lead.
A minute later the ball came off the cross bar for Phil to
tap in, but the goal was disallowed for off side.
Dan Hughes then ran through the centre and struck a 25 yard
shot which beat the over worked keeper for 6-0.
43 minutes saw a poor goal kick which landed at Shane Browns
feet. With just one defender and the keeper to face Shane
fire in from distance for the 7th.
Then a moment before half time Jason McAree, beating two players
found Shane who again found the net with his 4th.
Half time an 8-0 score line could have been more but for some
fine work by Prestons beleaguered keeper.

Second half I
gave up taking notes due to the atrocious wet weather.
However, Gen could only increase their tally by one, Phil
Fennel against the driving wind and rain whilst Preston, using
the wind, found a way over Gens struggling defence to put
away two good goals to lift their spirits.
With the weather turning to a gale and the pitch now water
logged the ref called the game off leaving Gen to ponder on
what might have been had the sun shone.
This game was played in good spirit as both sides struggled
with the conditions.

25th - Away to
FC Thanet United (Won 0-8)

In
a game that Gen were always going to win, it was a matter
of by how many. Up til now Thanet had only let in 5 in any
one game and the pitch at Jacky Bakers certainly was to Thanets
advantage as Gen's ability to pass the ball is always a threat
to any team in this division.
On 12 minutes Gen broke the deadlock with a slick passing
move down their left side with Jonny Hindley linking up well
with Paul Axon, who crosses the ball for Jim McClean to chest
down, taking a first time shot to be palmed out into Chris
Lewis's path for an easy tap in from 2 yards out for 0-1.
The next five minutes and Gen could have doubled their lead,
but long range efforts from Lewis, McAree and Axon all failed
to test the keeper, that was until on 20 minutes with a long
ball from Neil Thompson at left back finds Paul Axon who chips
the ball into Thanets box for Jim McClean to take down and
cooly slot the ball past the Thanet keeper for a 0-2 lead.
More pressure followed from Gen, and this was beggining to
become a goal fest.
On 26 Minutes Gen win a corner, which was swung in from Axon,
beating everyone in the air, hitting Paul Cooper's back and
into the back of the Thanet net, 0-3.
Another few minutes pass and Thanet actually on the attack,
Chaz Albrecht being beaten first time round, only to recover
and making an amazing last ditch tackle to thwart the Thanet
forward and keeping Gens goal in tact.
Gen still playing some good passing football on a terrible
pitch, again moving through the gears and a well played through
ball from Jonny Hindley finding Paul Axon, who slotted Paul
Cooper in space for an easy tap in for 0-4.
0n 40 minutes a mix up just outside the Thanet box.
The ball is picked up by Jason McAree, who hits a sweet drive
past the Thanet keeper for a first half lead of 0-5.

The second, really
began much the same as the first ended, but with Gen now kicking
up the slope.
Jimmy McClean twice finding himself with just the keeper to
beat, putting both efforts over the bar from identical positions.
On another day he would have burried both.
Then on 55 minutes a great through ball, this time provider
Jim McClean for Paul Axon to latch onto, who hits a first
time shot parried by the keeper into his own net for 0-6 lead.
Gen commanding the game make an immediate double substitution
Paul Cooper and Adam Hills making way for Shane Brown and
Carl Gilson.
Straight from the kick off Gen win the ball and Shane Brown
finding himself in space scuffs his shot just wide of the
Thanet post.
Completly one way traffic now and on 60 minutes another Gen
corner, swung in by McClean, finding Browns head and just
over the bar.
Then against the run of play on 67 minutes a Thanet player
is in on goal, only to be upended by Damian Rowlands in the
Gen goal resulting in a penalty. Rowlands redeems himself
by making a good save down low to his right and still keeping
the clean sheet in tact.
75 minutes and Gen's final substitution, Jonny Hindley being
replaced by Brett Brumming.
30 seconds later the ball is swung in on Gens right from McAree
finding Gilson's head only to see his attempt agonisingly
rebound off of Thanet's bar with the Thanet keeper well beaten.
82 minutes another Gen corner, McAree delivers again Gilson
jumps, nodding down into the path of Chris Lewis, who smashes
the ball into the net for his second and gens seventh, 0-7.
89 minutes long ball down the middle sees McClean unmarked
for a very easy finish slotting the ball just inside the post.
A very easy one sided win and the goal difference looking
a bit like the others at the top end of the table.

18th - Home to
Swingfield F.C (Won 7-1)

Swingfield FCs visit to Minster saw Gen start the game as
a 4-5-1 formation with McClean playing as the sole striker.
Gen were unable to get any decent balls through for Jim to
latch onto and Swingfields tactics were clear from the off
as they peppered Gens defence with long balls over the top,
which continued throughout the game.
However, Gens skill and passing game rose on 5 minutes with
a fine move from Fennell – McClean to Hughes for a 2 yard
scrambled goal.
The following 40 minutes gave few real chances for Gen as
Swingfield stuck to their game plan which finally paid off
for them, despite the efforts of Woodward, a fine shot gave
keeper Rolands no chance for 1-1.
Minutes later, Gen changed their formation to 4-4-2 with,
Fennell supporting McClean up top, and within minutes this
almost paid dividends again another passing move, with McClean
playing Hughes in on the left and shot at close range.
Minutes before half time McClean found the net but the ref
blew for a foul which was clearly on the striker but given
the other way.
Gen took the lead with moments to spare, when Dan Hughes picked
up the ball and decided to take on the defender before cooly
slotting the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper
Half

The second half
started much the same but it was Gen who slowly lifted the
tempo keeping Swingfield penned in their own half with just
a couple of assaults on Gens goal.
Gens third from came from Phil Fennell who made the most of
a free kick some 30 yards out for 3-1.
Swingfield now wilting against a more physically fit and young
eleven struggled as Gen used their substitutions over the
next 25 minutes.
The highlight for Gen came when a loose ball fell to Brett
Brumming outside the area, a perfect connection sent the ball
goal wards and although the keeper did well it was 4-1 and
all one way.
The half ended with Dan Hughes grabbing his hat-trick plus
goals from Chris Lewis and Paul Cooper, both from close range
for a flattering 7 -1 victory.
Perhaps Gens
best performance this season without starting their best eleven.

11th - Away to AFC
Red Arrow (Won 0-9)

A Game that Gen had to win by a number of goals, and that
they did against 10 man AFC.
The
game started with Gen playing up the hill, and not really
taking advantage of the extra man until on 16 minutes , when
Hillsy played a ball from his defence to Phil Fennel in the
Gen midfield, who played a simple one two with Dan Hughes,
who found Anthony Woodward in space down the right wing, chipping
over the AFC keeper for Paul Axon to chest down and pass the
ball into the net to open the scoring 0-1 to Gen.
Then on 22 minutes Gen won their second corner of the game,
taken by Axon for the ball to fall at Anthony Woodward's feet
to smash in from close range for a 0-2 lead.
The third then followed on 35 mins as AFC began to tire and
Gen finding more space for Gilson to pick up the ball from
midfield, lobbing it forward to the pacy Shane Brown to lob
the advancing AFC keeper and into an open net for Gens third.
Half
Time AFC Red Arrow 0-3 Gen Sports

|
The second half
saw Gen make a double substitution.
Ben Thompson and Jim McClean on for Carl Gilson and Brett
Brumming.
The game kicked off, with not a lot of goal mouth action and
so Gen make their final sub. Phil Fennel replaced by Jason
McAree, and an immediate impact as the ball was worked from
Gens back three with Thompson rolling the ball forward to
McAree to find Dan Hughes on the left wing he then slots Jason
back in, crossing to Axon who heads on to Brown for a low
strike into the bottom corner of the net for his second and
Gens 4th for 0-4.
Two minutes later on the 65 minute mark a ball from Dan Hughes
on the left, rolling
the ball down the line to Jimmy McClean, who slipped on the
ball, but not giving up won the ball back and a low first
time cross found the advancing Shane Brown to connect at AFC's
front post for 0-5 and Browns hat-trick.
Jason McAree wins
the ball on 70mins and takes it on beating 2 AFC players to
fire in a shot from the edge of the box only to be blocked.
The rebound fell back to Jason, who fires in from about 10
yeards out to score for 0-6.
One minute later again Gen finding more and more space and
Jason really showing his class in the midfield puts Shane
Brown in to score his fourth and gen to take a 0-7 lead. This
also saw AFC's keeper being sent off for foul and abusive
language towards the young referee Will Sanderson, who was
being assessed today and AFC reduced to nine.
The next three to four minutes saw Gen knocking the ball about
squandering chance after chance, up until the 80th minute
when Gen moved the ball about from the left with McClean crossing
for a Gen shot goalward bound to be doubly hand balled off
the line and over his own bar. the result another red card
for AFC and Gen awarded a penalty.
Damian Rowland who played today in the Gen goal stepped forward,
smashing down the middle for Gens 8th.
Lastly in the final minute of the game and the real icing
on the cake saw Gen's Chaz Albrecht move the ball forward
for a delightfully weighted pass to Jim McClean, who cut inslide
to Shane Brown who unselfishly cut the ball back to
Ben Thompson for a tap in from 2 yards out and a good performance
for a 0-9 win and a plus 10 goal difference.
A much needed win

4th
- Home to Strokes F.C (Won 2-1)
Generation without 3 key players missing from their midfield
(Hindley, Woodward and McAcree) and a dismal display last
week were forced into making changes to today's starting line
up.
Dudley,
Brumming, N.Thompson, Rowlands, Albrecht
Fennel
Lewis, Axon, Gilson,Hughes
Brown
Subs:
Hills, B.Thompson, Cooper, McClean

Strokes started the game well and settled into their stride
passing the ball well amongst the backs, and Gen playing with
a lone striker found it hard to close them down. In the 2nd
minute Strokes created a real chance, but their forward dragged
the ball wide of the Gen post. Then on 22 minutes saw a long
ball from Strokes over the top forcing the hessitant Dudley
in the Gen goal to come out a make a brave leap for the ball
only to claash with a strokes players tooth, cutting above
his right eye forcing him to leave the field and Gen to make
their 1st substitution. Hills for Dudley, Rowlands to replace
Dudley in the Gen goal.
This appeared to lift Gen and with a battle of midfield, the
ball broke loose on 35mins to Phil Fennel, who unleashed an
unstoppable shot only to see it beat Strokes keeper and rebound
of the crossbar.
Strokes still persisting playing the log ball game, on 40
minutes nearly got their reward. A mix up in the Gen defence
saw the ball bounce over Rowlands head for the Strokes advancing
forward to hit the side netting, with only the goal to hit.
A big let off for Gen as the half comes to a close.
Half Time
Gen
Sports 0 - 0 Strokes F.C
|
|
The second half
kicked off, with still much of the game being played in the
middle of the park much to Gens benefit, and Strokes long
balls being cleared comfortably by the Gen defence.
Not much goal mouth action followed except that on 58mins
Gen won a free kick on the right edge of Strokes box after
Gilson was upended by Strokes left back. The resulting free
kick was squared to Phil Fennel who scuffed his shot.
65 Minutes saw Gens 2nd substitution Brumming off for Ben
Thompson and another change in formation of 4-4-2.
Again the substitution speared Gen on and on 67minutes a long
ball from the back was flicked on by Ben Thompson into Shane
Browns path, and with his back to goal went for a lob, which
just cleared the bar.
3 minutes later saw a Gen cross from Shane Brown, causing
a goal mouth scramble and Chris Lewis side footing in from
close range for Gen to take a 1-0 lead.
Typical Gen, 30 seconds later then had a lapse in concentration
with Damian Rowlands playing with the ball from his own area
to be closed down by Strokes resulting in Rowlands kick deflecting
off of the forward and into the empty net for 1-1.
The match then followed much the same way. Gens midfield of
Hughes, Axon and Lewis working tirelessly breaking up play
and on 82 minutes their work rate began to tell. Lewis taking
the ball on the left to cut inside and shot, from which the
Strokes keeper pulled of a fine save, the follow up came from
Ben Thompson and again a magnificent
save from close range from the keeper tipping the ball over
his bar and keeping Strokes in the game. Still 1-1.
The resulting corner was eventually cleared by Strokes defence
for a Gen throw in, which was quickly taken by Fennel to Axon
who slotted Chris Lewis in on goal for the spectators screaming
at him to square it for Shane Brown for an easy tap in. Instead
Lewis had other ideas and went alone for a very cool finish
and his second of the game for Gen to lead 2-1.
Strokes pushing forward were again caught out by Gen. This
time Ben Thompson in on goal with only the keeper to beat,
but shot wide.
The last 7 minutes, still resulting from long balls and neither
keeper being tested resulted in a 2-1 deserved win in Gens
favour.

A change of kit and personnel and things started brightly
for Gen who set a blistering pace, which was awarded with
a penalty on 11 mins for a push on a Gen player in the Port
& Anchor's box.
Nobody appeared to want to take responsibility in stepping
forward and it was Paul Axon who placed the ball on the spot.
Paul hit a well struck shot down to the Ports keepers left,
who made a very good save leaving the score goaless.
Although Gen had
most of the possession they were unable to make it count,
lacking in the final third.
Then on 40 minutes
Port broke down their right, only to be fouled on the half
way line.
The taken free kick was hit long into the Gens penalty area
for an unchallenged header for Port to take a 1-0 lead.
This seemed to lift P & A and to make matters worse on
40 minutes they won a throw in, which again was launched long
into Gens box and was scrambled in for

48 minutes - Gen 1st substitution. Adam Hills replace by Neil

- Home to Minnis Bay F.C (Won
4-3)

After
what could be considered one of Generations best games two
weeks ago it was a very different performance against Minnis
Bay today. Always struggling against Minnis long ball over
the top Gens back three and sometimes four were second best.
Minnis showed all the running from the off and it was against
the run of play when Gen took a quick free kick from Damian
Rowlands launched up field to give Ben Thompson a run in on
goal and cooly slotted the ball past the Minnis keeper for
1-0. This put Minnis on the back foot for some time as Gen
built and took a hat full of shots but none testing the Minnis
keeper. Other than one chance in the goal mouth when Gen players
insisted that the ball had cross the line by about a foot,
only for the ref to wave play on. This led to a touch line
discussion which caused the ref to miss a penalty shout from
Minnis. Minnis kept pushing and finally punished Gens back
row in the 43rd min with a gift for 1-1. Not over Minnis pushed
again and a fair shot came off Gens post which set up another
Gen counter attack, which Chris Lewis put wide of the goal.
Half Time Gen Sports 1-1 Minnis
|
|
Minnis started
the second half well but like the first half it was Gen who
found the net, a long clearance was well headed on by Ben
Thompson for Shane Brown to fire home.
Minnis hit back straight away after Gen failed to clear a
quick corner and tap in for 2-2.
Then came the turning point in the game when Gen made a double
substitution Dan Hughes and Adam Hills replaced Karl Gilson
and Chris Lewis.
Gen picked up the tempo and gave some fine touches especially
from the forwards. Sadly after a booking for discent, the
Minnis` skipper, failing to gain composure saw a second yellow
less that ten seconds later for a late and high tackle on
Hughesy sending the midfielder several feet into the air,
nearly landing on his feet
(a move that would have won gold in the olympics vault had
he nailed the landing).
Gen still found it difficult to build against ten men Minnis's
long ball and it was only some fine keeping from Mike Dudley
that kept Minnis out.
Another change gave Jamie McClean the last 15 for Chaz Albrecht,
who had one of his few off days and a change in formation
to a gamble of 3-4-3.
Hanging on Gen managed to find space to play Shane Brown in
to score in a shot under the keeper for his second and fourth
in two games for a 3-2 lead.
More of the same was to follow as Minnis fought back and again
caught Gen in the goal mouth and an unlucky Mike Dudley in
the Gen goal, who made a great save, only to see the ball
agonisingly creep accross the line for 3-3.
The last 10 minutes could have gone either way but with some
persistence and several half clearances the ball broke down
the left, with Dan Hughes releasing Shane Brown, who's cut
back to Ben Thompson who missed the ball for Paul Axon in
the box to put away the winner.
A poor display from Gen against a determined Minnis with outstanding
performances from Ben Thompson and Mike Dudley gave Gen the
points and remain with 2 wins from 2.

- Home to Barnaby F.C
(Won 3
- 2)

Generation sports got their campaign under way with a convincing
3-2 win over strong opposition Barnaby's. Barnaby's done the
double over Gen last year, but this was a new season and Gen
with 3 new players from last year in the starting line-up
(Dudley, Thompson and Gilson), started the game well pressurising
from the first whistle and got their just rewards on 8 minutes
when Shane Brown broke away from the Barnaby left back, cooly
slotting the ball past the advancing Barnaby keeper for a
well deserved 1-0 lead. Gen still pressing the ball had another
couple of good chances to double their lead, but it was Barnaby,s
perseverance that kept them in the game and on 22 minutes
they won a corner, which was swung into the near post for
an unlucky Brett Brumming heading into his own net giving
debutant Mike Dudley no chance in the Gen goal for 1-1. Generation
still playing most of the football, but still unable to capitalise
until the 42nd minute when the ball was won in the midfield
by Anthony Woodward who played a pin point through ball around
the Barnaby flat back four for Shane Brown's second of the
game for a 2-1 lead to Gen.
Half Time

The second half
started much as the first with Gen having most of the play
albeit mostly in midfield.
On 55 minutes Gen made their first substitution with Ben Thompson
coming on to replace Shane Brown, and what a substitution
it proved to be.
On 60 minutes Chaz Albrecht intercepted a Barnaby attack feeding
the ball to Paul Axon, who flicked the ball over a Barnaby
player releasing Ben with his first chance of the game and
put Gen 3-1 up, which should have been enough to seal the
win.
Gen then make their second substitution, Brett Brumming a
straight swap at right back with Adam Hills. Generation should
have had a fourth and fifth, but squandered both chances,
Jim McClean hitting over the bar and Ben Thompson Screwing
his shot wide.
Gen then made their final substitution with Damian Rowlands
coming on in midfield for forward Jim McClean to close the
game out, however all credit to Barnaby's who dug in and never
gave the game up and it was them who scored on 80 minutes
for a nervy last 10 minutes.
Damian Rowland then joined the back three to see the game
out for a well deserved victory reversing last years defeats.
3 points in the bag - well done lads.
